Restraint Assessment

The use of any approved type of restraint, such as  bed rails,  must  have a nurse assessment and clarification. As with the  psycho-active medications, the continued use must be re-assessed  by the Doctor, Nurse Practitioner or RN on a predetermined schedule specifically created for that resident. You must also have a Doctor’s order and a letter of approval from the resident’s family or power of attorney.

You cannot use restraints without the assessment, the written doctor’s  order and a letter of family/POA approval.    contact me
