Hi, I’m Catherine (Cathy) Hutchison, R.N., owner and operator of youRNurse consulting. I started my business to help the Adult Foster/Care Home community provide high-quality care. I accomplish this by assisting the providers with nurse consulting and education required to ensure licensing. I must admit that I want to ensure that there will be quality places when I need to move into one. I have found that most Adult Foster/Care Home providers get into the business to help people, not for record keeping. That can be a frustrating challenge for you. I am here to assist you! My medical career began as a CNA in a large Tulsa, Oklahoma, hospital. I then moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where I furthered my career, training and working as a Certified Emergency Paramedic for an ambulance company. I married my paramedic partner and started our family there. In 1986, my family and l moved to Portland. I attended a local Nursing program, and became a Registered Nurse in1989. Most of my nursing career was spent working as a Home Health Nurse (starting in 1990). My present venture is my business, youRNurse consulting, which I opened in 2008. In 2010, I became an instructor, teaching the Ensuring Quality Care (EQC) program through local community colleges. Along with bettering the Adult Foster Home community, I wanted a more flexible schedule to spend more time with my family, especially my grandchildren.

My consulting business provides nurse consultation services for Adult Foster/Care Homes in the Portland Metro area. I instruct Ensuring Quality Care classes: EQC Essentials (part 1) and EQC AFH Administration (part 2). This program is brand new as of March 2021. I also offer the Ventilator Assisted Care Home Program Skills and Competency course.
